A Perfect Stay at the Claremont, made Unforgettable by Captain Alwyn and Lady A. Our stay at the Claremont was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The rooms were beautifully appointed, the service was attentive and warm, and the location couldn’t have been more picturesque. Every detail felt thoughtful and refined. Dining at Little Fern was also a highlight—delicious food, elegant ambiance, and top-tier hospitality. But what truly made our trip unforgettable was our charter with Lady A. We were lucky enough to set out with Captain Alwyn (sp?), a knowledgeable and passionate local who brought the beauty of the area to life in such a personal and engaging way. From hidden coves to sweeping coastal views, every moment on the water felt like a scene from a dream. Captain Alwyn’s expertise, warmth, and deep roots in the community made the experience both relaxing and enriching. If you’re staying at the Claremont, I can’t recommend this experience enough. Treat yourself to a day on Lady A—it’s a must-do, and one of the most memorable parts of our Maine getaway.

I absolutely loved my stay at the Claremont Hotel. The rooms were perfect, and the whole place was beautifully decorated with so much charm. I do wish they had a hot tub, but everything else made up for it. I really enjoyed getting drinks at the cute Harry’s Bar. The drinks took over 20 minutes, but the staff was so sweet and welcoming. Dinner at Little Fern was great, and I loved starting my mornings with their coffee. Would definitely come back.

We did not stay at the hotel. we did take the Lady A sunset cruise with Captain Aylen. He is absolutely fantastic! There are NOT enough good words to say about him. He is so knowledgeable and so much fun to talk to… We got to see beautiful homes .. wildlife and my favorite.. seals! He is quite impressive with his knowledge about the boat as well… it was fun to learn things about it! Thank you Aylen for a memorable time for myself, boyfriend and our friends… we will never forget it!!! Best Captain ever!!!!! 100 stars!!!!!

Dinner with family, had to figure out how to seat us so they crammed us all in when we could have used one extra table. Service was good, lots of drinks require a little extra time. Food was good, recommend salmon as it's the simplest item on the menu. Youngest members were not very savvy eaters so can't vouch for much else but the curry dish was said to be very good and with no real heavy spicy heat. Beautiful location, buildings and grounds. A hike up the hill from the marina so prepare for walking up steps. Really nice attentive dock crew and will put your boat on a mooring and will transport you with their dedicated fetch. Might try staying there sometime!

We had a lovely stay at the Claremont. All the amenities you’d want with a stunning waterfront view. Our room was quaint but had most creature comforts (hoping for a fridge but we made do). Great place to stay if you want to be outside the more busy town of Bar Harbor but want quick Acadia park access. 3 onsite food options (4 if you include the coffee shop).

We spent 2 days at the Claremont Hotel in Southwest Harbor as part of our Maine trip. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were greeted by staff at the front desk who welcomed us with a glass of blueberry champagne, took us for a tour of the property and generally told us to make ourselves at home. one criticism, the rooms are small but with luxury bedding, a spacious bathroom and comfy bed/pillows. we had many questions about the park and were given maps, advice to download alltrails and recommendations for hikes and restaurants. we spent most our time outside enjoying the property (stellar weather), sitting by the pool, and most of all, morning coffee on the deck enjoying the most magnificent view.

After a 4 night stay at the Claremont, I can absolutely say it’s one of the best hotels I’ve ever been to in terms of hospitality and amenities. From the front desk staff, to the gym/club/pool/kids/tennis club, and both restaurants, every single person was wonderful and helpful. It’s not an exaggeration. Our room was lovely, and we felt welcomed everywhere. My 7 year old daughter and I were there for an event in the area, and we used the 3 heated pools/gym twice a day. Unfortunately our flight out was canceled (and then delayed) for over a day due to a snow storm, and the front desk staff honored our original room rate for the extra night - even though online it had gone up by over $150/night - without asking, and kept us in the same room. It was also my birthday for the extra day we were there, and the staff made it extra special without me asking. They noticed it on the reservation info in advance, and did some very special things like placing my daughter and I at the chef’s table in their restaurant. The waiter also upgraded my wine order at dinner with the top of what they offered on their wine list, and made what could’ve been a downer evening into something memorable. Thank you to everyone at the Claremont, and I can’t recommend your hotel enough. Your team made it incredibly special, and you turned a frustrating situation into a memorable one.
